8 months is the best one yet!

Last month has been so great with milestones. Gracie's waving and clapping so much...and she started crawling and pulling up on everything. She's so much fun.

*wrote this on 7/21*Except-it seems that she'll never cut teeth. In the last week or so she stopped sleeping through the night. We think because her teeth have been really bothering her. She's got so many nubs on her gums. I guess it'll be any day now.

THEN...on 7/24 I saw her 1st tooth!!! And now she has the two bottom ones. I've been trying to get a pic and she does not like it. Finally got this one tonight...you can see how pissed she is:)

And the same day she said MAMA!! Very exciting.
Here's the first video we got of her crawling:

Other likes:
She likes to be sung to. She's usually crabby when getting dressed after her bath so i started singing Hokey Pokey. She likes the "shake it all about" part :) I sing The Alphabet Song to her to try to calm her.
She still likes bathtime and likes playing in the pool.

Took the Intelligender Test

So, you all know i like to take pee tests, right? Well, there's actually a pee test that tells you the gender of your baby as early as 10 weeks prego! How exciting, right?

Per their website:

IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test is a simple urine analysis similar to the pregnancy test you took a few weeks ago. It uses first morning urine and a proprietary mix of chemicals which reacts with a combination of hormones to indicate the gender of your baby. It can be performed as early as 10 weeks (six weeks from the first day of the missed period).

Laboratory results show 90% accuracy and real world studies indicate 82%.

So, they have a 50/50 shot. Steven said it was a waste of $30, but i thought it was fun. The pic is really bad, but my result was girl.

We'll find out in 4 more weeks if it was right! I go for my Big u/s on Aug 19th. Can't wait. Even without these results i think it's another girl. The baby's heartrate seems to keep rising-at 14 weeks it was 150...at 16 weeks it was 160.

Gracie's 1st "Boyfriend"

Leesa and Anselm visited from New York.
You'll see from the pics just why boyfriend is in quotes. He really was being friendly...i guess that's just his exited face :)

Boys just play a little rougher, right?
And after all that...she still kissed him.
Don't worry. I will impress upon her the importance of not being a battered wife :)

And here's a random pic of my Gracie lookin' like a little boy.

Standing & Eating

Look! 8 months old and standing on her own!
Ok, ok, so Daddy cheated and she's leaning on the ottoman :)

Gracie's been saying da-da, or really da-da-da-da since 6 mos, but this morning (the 3rd) she actually said ma-ma :) I know it's just the sound she's making and not really referring to me, but i still liked it. She's also waving now. Still don't know if she's knows what it means, but it's still fun.
Oh! And she did take one-not sure what to call it-scoot forward, too :) Crawling is so close and i'm not ready. Let the childproofing begin.

Here's Gracie eating breakfast. It is baby food, which is pureed, so what is she chewing? I love it!

June (7 month) updates

I don't really have too many pics from June. I had a big long story i was going to post about a terrible day i had-the day of 1,000 parties-but i'll just post the short version. Basically i had 3 parties to go to and didn't want to miss any of them. Steven couldn't go with me and i needed to bring Gracie.

So i drove from BR to Franklinton (showed up an hour late) for Gary & Rosie's baby shower, then (left an hour late) and headed to metairie (completely missed Mackenzie's 1st bday party) to dropp off gracie at grandmas to spend the night. The guy across the street yells that my tire is flat. Holy Sh!t! I drove across the causeway with a leaking tire and my baby :( AND-it's saturday at 5pm-where will i be able to get it fixed??? AND, i'm already 2 hours late for the wedding back in BR :( Went to sams-guy could tell i was crying-fixed it for free in about 10 minutes :)

Made it to the wedding with 30 minutes to spare. Thank goodness it was a non-traditional one. The ceremony was full chris and anne fashion-in the backyard, non-traditional music (wedding song from the muppets), a friend as the officiant, their own vows (never heard the f bomb in a ceremony before), the Simpsons theme played by the bridal party with kazoos and a reading from The Prophet (which was beautiful). It was a good visit with Christine, Shaun, Rob, and Jeff and Julia, too. (Don't have any pics)
Vicki and Gracie
Jenna (Vicki's baby)
Funny-i used to post pics if me that looked good, but now i pick the ones where Gracie looks the best :)
My cutie in a blue bow
Bows are fun
The only thing she did this month was practice her sitting and rolling skills. She clapped a few times, but the 1st time i saw it was actually the morning she turned 8 mos. She's still trying to crawl, but only spins around and goes backwards.
While Daddy was gone for the weekend on his fishing trip, i let her try to eat puffs for the first time. This kid eats everything i give her and puts every inanimate object in her mouth. Wouldn't eat these though:)
