For those who i email, this will probably just make you mad since you've already seen most of this, but i wanted to record it for me to remember. {Added new comments in these brackets}
8/13/09 started feeling snowflake for sure (about 4 months)
8/20 A labor prediction I did online:
The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Your baby will arrive in the middle of the night. After a labor lasting approximately 48 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and will be 22-1/2 inches long. This child will have light hazel eyes and barely there black hair.
Fun!
My take at the time: Due in Jan, so probably will be windy. Just found out yesterday it's a girl, and DD1 has hazel eyes and was 7#, 7oz, so that's likely. My labor probably won't be that long since #1 was less than 8 hrs(hopefully). Pretty good :)
{Don’t remember the wind. Was middle of night. Only a few hours labor (unless you count when I thought my water broke). 6lb, 15oz, 20.5 inches. Dark blue eyes and lots of black hair.}
9/1-trip to see B in Houston: Short, but good. I had one prego meltdown. Sucks because I don’t remember any with gracie…guess now it’s prego x 2. More hormonal:)
Anyway, we went to NASA and that was fun-especially for the kids. Steven did a bunch of flight/landing simulators. He’s so cute when he’s into something. Heather and Aubrey met us for dinner-that was good. Gracie and Aubrey played and all the kids were good at the restaurant-that was a miracle.
Sunday we just ate and swam and ate. Then drove home.
Andy is quiet…can’t imagine being him with all of us taking over his house. Very nice house, too, by the way. I was kinda always worried about B & A, because it’s so sloooooow trying to do anything with kids, but they were champs…I guess it was all that practice with nieces and nephews.
Oh and the ride home was miserable when gracie woke up. She must have cried for an hour and I couldn’t do anything to console her…of course she fell back asleep a few blocks from the house. {already posted pics}
9/23/09 Crying at Izzos
Not because I finally got to eat.
Not because it tasted so good (which it did).
But because I was reading the paper. The story about the adopted brothers raised by different parents who met because they worked together.
Such a sap.
Random thoughts about prego brain:
Seemed to be so much worse this time. Some examples include leaving water running in the sink while I walk around the house or sit at the kitchen table?!? I cut up the checkcard instead of a credit card that I cancelled-and this was right before xmas so shopping was difficult. And just in general I can’t remember sh!t. Also had some bittersweet feelings about gracie. She’s getting so big! At the time I wrote this she was only getting bottles at night. And that was only for a few days then she went to sippy cups. She transitioned very well, too. No fights. (Guess we’re saving that for the nuk.)
11/4/09 Sophie it is...i think
So I asked Cindy (photographer) what nickname she would give for the name Sophie (she gave gracie her ‘grits’ nickname) and she said, “You’re going to name your baby Sophie???” I said, “that’s best option so far.”
Cindy: “giiiirl, get your running shoes on. Both sophies I have are non-stop.”
So I say, “funny because this baby never stops moving…snowflake moves waaay more than gracie ever did.” So she says, “well, then I guess she is a sophie”
Steven agreed.
12/14: Here’s some of an email chain between me and ally
A:I want you to write me an email about breastfeeding…how hard it was, how it got better and what it meant to you. You know… for when you are cursing at me :-)
L: I really need to be reminded that work/money is not that important. Because I’m already talking myself into less pumping…
I better get a new pump so at least I can guilt myself into getting my money’s worth there if nothing else.
A: Plus a new pump will probably be more efficient and you will get more and require less pumping.
{Never really did write the email. So lazy…besides I thought it was good for baby and me, but it was so terrible and gracie still got sick(so I didn’t claim it to be the miracle it was supposed to be) I really couldn’t put into words what it meant to me because it wasn't that great and hurt like hell. Honestly, I think it’s better for baby, but was soooo happy to stop. It’s so much easier with Sophie. Even pumping not as bad. Should be easy to reach my 6 mos goal}
12/15 Becky’s bday and my mom and dad’s wedding anniversary
Maybe not prego related, except that crazy dreams are common in pregnancy
I had a crazy dream about mom and dad last night. It was mom’s funeral in a big church and dad was there. Still dead, but there anyway. We were talking (not really about anything) when mom came in and sat by him. She really didn’t acknowledge me. She was talking to him but I couldn’t understand her-it was like how she was trying to talk at the end. I was frustrated because I couldn’t understand her and asked dad why I couldn’t. He was telling me that I didn’t fully understand. And I told him, no, I understand, she’s dead, but so are you and I can understand you. So weird. Then she said something else and I could understand that. But then the funeral was starting and Ms Cookie got up to speak. She’s the mom of my childhood friend. When she got up there to speak it was like it really hit me and I got really upset and started crying.
I woke up then hot and got really sad:( Something that’s been bugging me since she died was how many people probably still don’t know(like Ms Cookie)…I wish we would have known it would only have been in the houma paper…really should have been in the times picayune.
12/23 {last day of work}It’s so weird having my bag and boppy in the truck. And steven will be putting the infant carrier in there. I had to add Dreft to the grocery list and I’ll pack up my desk before leaving today.
