Busy Week (Belly rubs, freakouts, registering & nursery)

Wow, i'm exhausted! Going non-stop since last Saturday. Steven went fishing down in Venice and I went to Ashley & Allan's wedding. It was beautiful. All our tailgating people were there and they all said i looked great (which pregos especially like). The one thing i thought was weird was no one rubbed my belly. I know lots of people don't want people touching them, but these people? If you saw us out on campus, sometimes you'd wonder who was with who. I hope they were being polite (or sober) and that i'm not "tainted." Even though i'm prego, i'm still crazy-ass, fun-loving Leslie who is still an attention whore...so rub away! (This applies to non-strangers, only, by the way, so if i don't know you, introduce yourself 1st.)

The wedding was in New Iberia so I had a nice drive home. Well, nice, except for my little freakout. I think too much when i drive. For some reason i was sure that disaster would strike and steven would die on the fishing trip. And if not then he would surely die on one of his upcoming motorcycle trips. There's bad phone service down there so i text him telling him not to drink too much and stay by the life jackets. He doesn't reply...so i freak out more. Finally he calls me and says he did reply. WTH? Bad time for texting to be delayed. Anyway, he said not to worry...he is going to be a daddy now so he knows he has to be responsible. I've been waiting for a breakdown, and the cry felt good.

Sunday started with more reasons my friends are better than your friends:
Babs paid for lunch
Ally helped with my Babies R Us registry
Clyde’s selling my car

Had our "book club" lunch at Changs. Great to have some girl time. Then we headed to BRU...ally was a huge help-it's very easy to get overwhelmed with all that baby stuff. Christine and Barbara came with us-i was worried they'd be bored to death, but all was well.

Monday night we went to a party for a friend of a friend at this beautiful house in University Club. The hostess was awesome-so much fun. There was a sign in the kitchen that said, "Refusal of Food will be Punished." I need that:)

Tuesday we (well, clyde) made sushi with the stuff steven caught. We had an awesome spread that was delicious. I think i need a new word that i can interchange with 'awesome.' Any suggestions?

Wed night i finished up painting in the nursery (it is so hard not to call it the office) and cleaned the pantry. Steven had his own honey-do list and my house is looking good.

Today i met the girl who is taking over my RESOLVE meetings then steven and i went shopping for the party on Saturday. Steven got home early today so i came home to this:

Yep, he put together my crib!!! I love it. Can't wait to get the mattress and bedding now! Come on shower:)

Tomorrow we are either working on the nursery or eating dinner at Seranno's or both! And Saturday is the party I've put together for my family (which friends are invited to, also, by the way).

I guess on Sunday I’ll be sleeping late. Very late.

Here's another fun pic to tide you over until next time

Started nesting?

Nah, it's just that the ony time we actually clean the house is when we have a party. You know, so other people can dirty it again. Believe me, it's worth it.

So i haven't written because i've been busy cleaning. Except for that one night when i was without Internet...argggggg!

Anyway, no time now, so i won't de-brief you. Wouldn't want to shortchange my readers. I'm hoping to update tonight, though. Key word, hoping.

Prenatal Yoga

Ok, so vacations over, let me get back to preggie stuff.

I started prenatal yoga on Monday. I wasn't sure my new Dr would give me permission, but he did. My form looked terrible, though. He wrote on it: Have caution because of "poor OB history and surgery during this pregnancy." Poor? I don't think i've failed anything before...wow.

Anyway, yoga was a lot harder than i thought. It was just like regular yoga and i have no flexibility. I need to stop saying that, by the way, because i'll never get it. You know, according to Stewie Griffin "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right."

There was one girl there whose due date was July 5th!?! Over 2 weeks ago. She wasn't there tonight, so my fingers are crossed for her. She has a midwife and is not being induced. That's what is called a "granola" or "crunchy" mom. Kinda crazy to me. Give me doctors, pain meds and disposable diapers :)

Tonight there was a different instructor and i felt a little better because they said monday's instructor kicks your butt. So far i like it, but can't completely relax, so it's not working all the way. TMI coming....all that stretching and flexing makes me gassy:) So, how can i relax when i'm worried i might fart in front of all those people? And i'm not completely convinced of all the spiritual stuff, either, like looking through my "third eye." Huh?
~~~
Steven's gone tonight so i get to catch up on some TV. He won't let me watch The Baby Borrowers. Don't know why...he's just weird sometimes. Anyway, i love the concept of this show and hope it does prevent some teen pregnancies. Honestly, though, it's scaring the shit out of me :) Too bad it didn't air 2 years ago.
Vacation Pt 3 (The Finale)
Sunday
Slept in
Cooked French toast and bacon for breakfast. Mmmm!
Went straight to the beach to try to beat the daily rain.
It was jellyfish infested. I mean, NO ONE was in the water. There were some kids next to us catching them-they had a bucketful…nasty.
After about 45 minutes went to condo pool. Much better.
Sexy prego...yeah right...everyone wants a belly like that:)
Handstands on shoulders
Also known as "walking on water."
Watched a movie/napped, then got ready for the night. Headed to the comedy show. We were early-used to the funny bone, i guess. Place wasn't packed at all. I did get a virgin strawberry colada that was pretty good.
No, i don't know what's up with my crazy eyes, but this is the only pic i got of Steven and I.
The girls dancing (click pic to enlarge to view the "girls")
Can't believe i didn't get a better shot of that bewbie shirt. Well, at least one that i would post :)
Good comedy, then DRUMROLL, PLEASE....
Steven and Ally sing the *perfect* Karaoke song. (Notice the screams from the excited guys at the next table.)
Sorry about the 2 videos-i accidentally pressed stop.
Ok, so that was fun...but someone started singing "Strokin'" so we get on the floor and EVERYONE starts doing the Electric Slide. What's up with that? Ally was pissed and insisted on doing it "right" except she was a little off too, so i didn't join her until she got it right...
(all you need is a few seconds of this one to get the point-spare yourself the whole thing)
If i don't look too into it, it's probably because i'm COMPLETELY SOBER.
And, if one song wasn't enough, Steven decides they need to sing our Barefoot Bandits Anthem Louisiana Saturday Night. They even kick their shoes off! (Not sure if i got that part on video. I was distracted by the guy trying to pick up on me when everyone left me. See if you can hear him in the beginning: HIM: "Is that your husband" ME: "Yes" HIM: "He's cute" There's more...)
I guess I don’t have to tell you how drunk they were. We danced and had a pretty all around great time. I felt especially trampy sober in my bewbie shirt…but I had some fans.
Got home around 1am. Sleeping by 3
Fire alarm goes off at 4am. WTF? Completely confused. I go out the front door and everyone’s in the front parking lot. So I figure we better go, too. Some of the drunk people looked like Katrina refugees sleeping on the sidewalk-they even had one chick taking pics of them. It was a malfunction, but scary still. Made me realize how unprepared I would be in that situation…all I did was put on a bra and grab car keys and phone. Purse/ID might have been good.
Monday
Wake up late, pack, talk about stupid fire alarm
Check out at 10am and head home
Stop at some gift shop, antique place and a farmers market
THE END...FINALLY
Vacation Pt 2
Saturday
Saturday was kind of sad. The best thing we did was have lunch.
Ate at Lambert’s (Home of the Throwed Rolls). We hadn’t even gotten plates yet and people were walking around with food to give us. We ate fried okra off of napkins.
Look at the size of those drink cups. My dad would love that.
I was annoyed because I couldn’t get any good pics. (He's sort of in action here.)
They actually throw the hot rolls at you. They do other stuff too...our waitress had a pitcher full of what looked like coke and pretended to spill it on Steven. It was actually cooled molases or something...nothing came out. Should have seen him jump.
Clyde talks about this place A LOT. I was pleasantly surprised by the food since he’s the one who likes picadilly and loves to eat at the hospital cafeteria. It was a fun place.
The liquor store was next to the adult gifts place. Perfect, right?
Went to walmart for food/beer/etc(at which part I got a little depressed). I mean, we went to Al to go to rave and walmart:) It didn’t last long.
No, we didn't steal the cart.
Hung by the pool a little.
Steven's "gator-huntin'" outfit.
It was too cold for me, so i just posed for pics.
Started storming so we hung out in room and napped. Very nice. Had dinner at an oyster house. Quite disappointing. Over and hour wait, but there was an arcade next door so I wasn’t too bad. Food was not great (but my stomach was still hurting from lunch). Or maybe it was the bread i had before we left:)
Just a pic of the girls...
Went to The Hangout-cool place to hangout (hehehe) but all the chairs and sand was wet. They had outside bars and a band and beds. Yep, beds. Darn, don’t think I got a pic…
Went next door to the pink pony. A band was starting…we were looking for dancing/dj music, so we left.
Stopped at Live Bait. Music sounds good walking up…cool atmosphere-AND you had to go outside to smoke. AMAZING. So many LSU fans…clyde had on an LSU shirt and go a lot of high 5s. We left after the band started, but planned to come back the next night for a comedy show. That's when the karaoke fun ensues...Stay Tuned.
***I know i'm killing some of you with my speed at this post, but i really can't help it.
Vacation Part I
Finally! Video success! Sorry this took so long, but my videos wouldn't load so i had to embed them from you tube...
Anyway, here's day 1-Friday
Packed the new Mommy Mobile
Kept ourselves occupied on the long ride...eww!
Arrived, dropped off stuff, condo was INCREDIBLE
Clyde liked it so much he decided to buy his own. This is all he could afford. It's got a nice view, though.
Packed the wine fridge
Tested out the tub
Went to The Wharf where we went to the movies, rode the ferris wheel, and browsed the shops.
Breakin' the Law :)
Lots of LSU stuff
Went to dinner @ a sushi place…sat at the hibatchi…fun, my first time.
Dropped off the truck at the condo and walked down to Florabama. It was smelly and funky, but I could see the appeal. We (well, they) had a few drinks and listened to the band then back to the room.
~~~
I'll try my best to put the anticipated karaoke videos up this weekend...if youtube and blogger cooperate. Stay tuned.

Some Questions

I know i can google this, but i'd rather hear your answer:

1.) Why do we say "You're welcome" after Thank yous? Welcome to what? I don't get it.

Ok, so now for some that are a little more fun.

2.) How creepy is this guy? (The shack in the back only adds to it...we need to have a haunted house out here.) Can't tell you online what he was doing-it might be illegal :)

3.) Do i really look like this? I didn't think i did until i saw this pic.

4.) Can you tell he's wearing purple contacts?

5.) Doesn't this make you want me to have a girl? Me, too. (Isn't he versatile)

Nursery Part I

I wish I still had the "before" pic of the office with all the junk, but i don't.
Here's some of the progress so far. We are covering the "prison grey" with bright white. Steven didn't want to paint for a couple reasons...one of which is he thinks the kid will be like him and like darkness. (It did have its eyes covered in 2 of the u/s pics.) Anyway, mommy will like it.

Isn't that bright white better?

In the pic below, the top of the shelf is not painted. You'll have to wait and see what we do with that. I hope it will look as good in real life as it does in my head.

Boo was happy.

Very happy!

~~~
By the way, i finally met my new doctor. I won't bore you with the details like i did to a few lucky emailers, but here are the highlights:
-i like him
-he reminds me of william shatner
BELLY PICS Round 2
WAIT! Big News before the pics...Steven felt the baby kick for the 1st time today! It was awesome! He got these big eyes like, "Wow, i really felt it." (Probably because i tried all weekend and he felt nothing.) So cool. Later on, i could see my shirt jumping:)
Ok, so, for the good stuff. Here's where I left off least time (May post)
17w3d
18w3d
21w3d (Oops, skipped a few weeks...and sorry about the bad photo-shopping of the Summerhouse disease)
22w5d
And still no stretch marks
::Knocking on Wood:: (I really want to delete this for fear i jinxed it.)
Here are some other random ones.
21w6d-The day we picked up the new truck. (Yeah, so, my nesting hasn't kicked in yet...can i put maid service on the registry?)
22w4d-July 4th
