Paying for drinks instead of the hotel: ~$1200
Real BCS Championship tickets: Free
Fake tickets that Clyde bought: $800
LSU win & a weekend of fun: Priceless
I know that's been done to death, but i had to. Now for more fun stats:
current weight: 142
fertility status: high
mood: bipolar (really high highs, really low lows)
Before i get started on the weekend lowdown...i did clomid this month but my ultrasound and bloodwork yesterday wasn't good. Only one good follicle (which houses the egg) and too many little ones which usually mean a good one won't develop. Dr's orders are to have sex this weekend just in case though:) I go back monday to re-do u/s.
And the whole "current weight" thing is because we are trying to eat better now. So, for now i'm going back to weight watchers. It's been 2 days and i'm already sick of Lean Cuisine.
Anywho...Saturday we arrive in NO around 11 and head to China Doll on the westbank. I have been wanting to go there forever and they are closed on Sundays (when we are usually in NO). It was decent, but not what i remembered. My fortune cookie said something like "Begin now to reap earnings sooner." I interpret this as either: 1. Get a job or 2. Start drinking early to get drunk sooner.
We check in at the hotel and settle in. For us, this means going to the corner grocery and buying sandwich meat, bacon, water and bread. These come in handy later. That night we go to Pat O's then walk around Bourbon. Christine, Shaun and Matt met up with us too. We rounded out a great night at The Penthouse Club with a very drunk Steven.
Sunday i was a little icky but still wanted to walk around and be touristy. Had the best bacon sandwich for breakfast. Went to Harrah's and didn't gamble (minimums were too high) and ate a delicious conveinence store turkey sandwich sitting on a bench in front of the Riverwalk. Walked in on an Ohio party and was terrified of being screamed at. They didn't. Visited Foulton St. (was even more beautiful at night). Had a late lunch at a crappy place next to St. Louis Cathedral, then watched the dancing guys across from Jackson Square...you know them, they've been there for years. While we were waiting for them to start the TUB passed by and blew the horn...we started running down the street to jump on.
Went back to the hotel to get ready for the night. Sunday was supossed to be warmer than Saturday, so i was sporting the puppies.
I've never done anything quite like it and i have to admit it was sooooo much fun. I got so many looks all night long! Split up with Shaun and Christine and headed to the Quarter. We heard an LSU band playing so decided to follow the sound. It was none other than Krewe de Spanky's Max, Dave and Edwin! How great. They brought their instruments and formed their own parade. We followed them around in bars and all the way back to Harrah's where we kept dancing to the DJ outside. I was great, it was great...so much fun! Then, the bathroom. I went in dancing and came out sick. Went right back in again:( If Ally wouldn't have come got me out i would have probably slept there in the stall. Haven't been that bad in a while. Thought back on it and i mixed too many drinks: wine on the way to dinner, mojito, martini, then margarita @ dinner, then 2 crown and sprites...YIKES!
It was a very slow process getting from the stall to the sofa (yes, there's a sofa in the bathroom)
to the chair at the 1st set of slot machines
to the chair at the next set
to the garbage in the lobby (where ally gave me her pony and took out my earrings...and i later found out that some guy said something about needing more growing up, or more practice drinking-he thought i was young-how great!)
to the curb where i waved off one cab and was able to get into the 2nd one. Steven provided a puke bag and the driver said, "she gets sick, you pay." I did not. Unfortunately didnt' puke at all.
I was so bad off on Monday i didn't even drink until the game started when i tried a bloody mary. Hate to say that's why i didnt' have as much fun as i could have. We got such a late start monday because i couldn't even move:( We finally saw Steve and Claudia-
who were tailgating a block away from us.
We hung out for a while and reminisced about my great boobs from last night, then headed to the bus.
It was loud and smelly and did i mention i was SOBER? We were only there a few minutes when it was time to go to the Dome. Game was great-except the first 5 minutes.

Then Steven gets a text that says Clyde bought fake tickets. Terrible. I was sick to my stomach-especially when we found out he paid $400 a piece. Even worse was i was going to give him my ticket but i got excited about going so i didn't. I should have. He never would have lost that money and i would have had more fun hanging out with Ally. Oh well.
We win the game
and steven takes his shoes off.
You know-Barefoot Bandits:) It was beautiful. People were so grossed out. I wasn't until we got to Bourbon. He even said he wouldnt' do it on Bourbon, but he did. Before we get to Bourbon, though, Steven drops his phone and it explodes. The back and his battery fall down a sewerage drain. Our hands don't fit to reach it, but steven McGyver's a tire iron and 3 sticks of gum and actually picks up the battery! He holds it in place with tape from a lint brush:) My little engineer.
We finally meet up with C&A and Clyde has to take his shoes off now, too. Sucker left them on...but i'll give him that because of the tickets. Just this time. He is lit (can't blame him) and trying to smoke a cigar. Don't think he's ever smoked anything before. It was great. At one point he looked like a crackhead staggering in the middle of the street trying to get it lit.
It was fun, but i'm glad it didn't spark some deep-seeded desire to start smoking. We tried to go to Penthouse Club (we promised Jimmy) but EVERYONE from the Dome was out and they raised the cover charge so we went to Gold Mine instead. Great choice! Max, Edwin, Jared and krewe were there. We danced and danced then tried Barely Legal (sorry, Jimmy)...better this time...cheaper cover. Then i go to the bar to get drinks...they won't take my card!!! My license says Leslie B and my credit card says Leslie A. I was livid. I see their point, but i was supossed to buy so i wanted my cover charge back. The manager was a jerk, but he was working on it when Steven got involved. He drops a few F bombs because he can't help himself and gets "asked to leave." I still got my money back. He's so pissed outside that he wants to fight someone so i told him to punch me. Seriously. We were awesome all day (because we were both sober)...no fights whatsoever and i tell him to punch me. What is wrong with me? I really do like to fight. And my defense mechanism is anger...always anger. I need to figure out how to control that. The night pretty much ended there. It was already 4am anyway. On the way back to the hotel i laid in the grass in the neutral ground in front of armstrong park. It could have been cool, but i was way too sober and way too scared to enjoy it.
We got a late checkout the next day. I drove home and had post vacation blues all the way. Even the next day. I don't think i've cried that hard in months. I've gotten better, but am still a little blah.
All in all an excellent (and way too expensive) weekend.
